Description: In the vibrant underwater world of Southside Reef, Oscar, a humble bluestreak cleaner wrasse, dreams of attaining wealth and fame. While working at the Whale Wash, he is summoned by his boss, Sykes, a pufferfish, who demands repayment of a debt by the following day. Haunted by childhood humiliation due to his father’s lowly profession as a tongue scrubber, Oscar is offered help by his best friend Angie, an angelfish, who gives him a precious pink pearl from her grandmother to settle the debt.
Meanwhile, a notorious shark gang, led by crime boss Don Edward Lino, faces internal strife. Lenny, his younger son, is a vegetarian who refuses to embrace the family’s violent legacy. Frustrated, Lino tasks his older, ruthless son, Frankie, with toughening up Lenny.
Oscar takes the pearl to a seahorse race to pay Sykes but discovers the race is rigged. Encouraged by a flirtatious lionfish named Lola, he recklessly bets the entire sum on a supposedly unlucky seahorse named Lucky Day. Despite a strong start, Lucky Day stumbles near the finish line, leaving Oscar penniless. Enraged, Sykes orders his jellyfish henchmen, Ernie and Bernie, to punish Oscar.
In a twist of fate, Frankie encounters Oscar and pressures Lenny to attack him. However, Lenny defies his brother and frees Oscar instead. Frankie charges at Oscar in anger, but an anchor from above accidentally kills him. Overcome with guilt, Lenny flees the scene, leaving Oscar to navigate the chaos that ensues.
