Description: In 2001, Anupama Banerjee arrives in London with her husband Ajay and reveals that she is suing her mother, Shakuntala Devi. The film then shifts to Shakuntala Devi’s childhood in Bengaluru during the 1930s, where her family discovers her extraordinary ability to solve complex mathematical problems effortlessly. Her father, Bishaw, decides to capitalize on her talent by organizing “math shows” to entertain people with her skills. As Shakuntala grows up, she continues these shows to support her family but resents her father for depriving her of a normal childhood. She also blames her mother for not standing up to him, especially after her sister’s death.
In 1954, Shakuntala leaves for London following a heated argument with her boyfriend, Dhiraj, after learning he had deceived her about his impending marriage. In London, she stays with Tarabai alongside three other Indian men but struggles to find opportunities for her shows. However, she eventually impresses Javier, a Spanish mathematician, when she demonstrates her abilities at the Royal Mathematical Society. Javier helps improve her English and secures performance opportunities for her, leading to a romantic relationship. Shakuntala’s fame skyrockets, earning her the title “The Human Computer” after outperforming a computer on a TV show. She expands her influence globally, becoming an international celebrity. Meanwhile, Javier ends their relationship, citing his need to return to Spain.
In 1968, Shakuntala meets Paritosh Banerji in Mumbai, and the two quickly fall in love. The film delves into her extraordinary life and career, exploring her relationships, challenges, and global impact.
