Genre: Comedy;Romance
Description: Harper Moore, a 25-year-old assistant, works for Kirsten Stevens, a former journalist turned editor of an online sports journalism platform. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Charlie Young assists Rick Otis, a high-strung venture capitalist. Both work in the same building and cross paths one evening when their bosses demand dinner. Harper, who ordered food for herself and Kirsten, realizes she has no cash to pay for it. Charlie, unable to order dinner for his boss, steps in to cover the cost, allowing Harper to take one of the meals after she explains she might lose her job otherwise.
The next day, Harper meets Charlie to repay him. During their conversation, she expresses her surprise at Charlie’s tolerance for his difficult boss. Charlie explains that Rick’s influential connections could secure his financial future. Harper, on the other hand, admires Kirsten and dreams of writing emotionally impactful sports journalism. Frustrated by their lack of personal time due to their demanding jobs, Harper jokingly suggests their bosses need to “get laid.” Though initially repulsed, Charlie eventually agrees to her plan: if their bosses start dating, they might ease up on overworking their assistants.
Their first attempt to set up Kirsten and Rick backfires when a claustrophobic delivery man causes chaos in a stalled elevator. Undeterred, Harper and Charlie arrange for their bosses to sit together at a baseball game. They bribe the operator of the kiss-cam to focus on Kirsten and Rick, leading to a successful kiss. As their bosses begin dating, Charlie finds time to reconnect with his model girlfriend, Suze, while Harper explores her own romantic possibilities.
