Description: In a magical kingdom, all forms of magic are overseen by the Secret Magic Control Agency. When the King is kidnapped by animated food infused with dark magic, the Prime Minister decides to keep the incident secret to avoid widespread panic. The agency assigns Gretel, along with her estranged brother Hansel, a skilled con artist, to investigate. Despite their differences, the agency believes Hansel’s expertise and unique abilities will aid in the search for the King.
Their investigation leads them to a local pastry shop, where they discover a hidden pantry filled with sentient baked goods. Gretel finds a potion room inside the pantry, containing a vial of enchanted vanilla extract. During a chaotic chase with a dog-shaped cookie, the building is destroyed, and Hansel and Gretel are transformed into small children. Unable to convince the agency of their identities, they seek help from Baba Yaga, a witch rumored to consume children. They learn that the enchanted vanilla extract originated from the swamplands.
Escaping Baba Yaga’s clutches, the siblings venture into the swamplands, home to mermaids. The Lake Witch initially mistakes them for spies sent by Ilvira, the witch of the Gingerbread House and the King’s former chef. They are spared when the Lake Witch’s daughter recognizes Gretel as her past rescuer. Hansel and Gretel discover that Ilvira’s henchmen have been imprisoned by the mermaids. After freeing them, the siblings follow the henchmen to Ilvira’s lair, where they uncover the King’s location.
They learn that Ilvira’s ultimate plan is to use magic to make the King and the entire kingdom fall under her spell, allowing her to claim the throne and its inherent magical power. Captured by Ilvira, Hansel and Gretel are imprisoned in an oven, leaving their fate uncertain.
