Description: Scary Movie (2000) is a comedic horror film that parodies popular horror movies. The story begins with 18-year-old Drew Decker, who receives a threatening phone call while home alone. She is chased outside by a person dressed as Ghostface, who attacks her, removing one of her breast implants. Her father accidentally hits her with his car, and she is ultimately killed by the murderer. Meanwhile, Cindy Campbell reunites with her boyfriend Bobby and her friends Brenda, Ray, Greg, and Buffy. Following Drew’s murder, news reporters, including Gail Hailstorm, arrive at the school to cover the story. Gail befriends Buffy’s intellectually disabled brother, Doofy, hoping to gather information from him.
During class, Cindy receives a threatening note and remembers that Drew’s murder occurred exactly one year after she and her friends accidentally caused someone’s death. Later, at a beauty pageant, Greg is killed by the murderer in plain sight, but the audience mistakes Buffy’s pleas for help as part of her performance. Cindy is later attacked at home by the killer, but she manages to call the police, leading to Bobby’s arrest when suspicious items are found in his possession. Cindy spends the night at Buffy and Doofy’s house, where she receives a mocking call from the killer.
The next day, Bobby is released from jail, but the murders continue. Buffy is beheaded with a cleaver, though her severed head continues to speak before being discarded. That evening, Ray and Brenda go to the movies, where Ray is attacked and killed in a bathroom stall. The film blends horror and comedy, keeping audiences entertained with its absurd and satirical take on the genre.
