Description: Saturday Night 2022 Movie: Storyline and Review
After reconnecting with an old schoolmate from his group of best friends, Justin finds himself entangled in a legal dispute in Dubai. To clear his name, he returns to India in search of his friend. This journey brings him back together with his old gang and unveils a series of unexpected surprises.
**Review:** If friendship is the new madness, then prepare for a wild ride with four best friends who reunite after seven years in the Nivin Pauly, Siju Wilson, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese-starrer *Saturday Night*. This lighthearted comedy celebrates friendship, packed with colorful humor, unresolved conflicts, failed romances, and a few cringe-worthy moments.
Stanley, Justin, Ajith, and Sunil have been best friends since childhood, but differences, conflicts, and ego clashes have driven them apart. When they decide to attend a “WTF” (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) party followed by a Saturday night event that Stanley has been planning, they realize their once-strong bond has faded, leading to a permanent separation. Seven years later, Justin encounters Sunil in Dubai and gets caught in a legal mess. To prove his innocence, Justin promises to return to India and bring Sunil back, unaware of the life-changing surprises awaiting him in Mysuru.
Directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Naveen Bhaskar, *Saturday Night* falls into the reunion genre, drawing parallels to films like *Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion* and *Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara*. However, the intriguing storyline loses some depth onscreen, and tighter editing could have eliminated lingering loose ends. At times, the film feels excessive, and its pacing doesn’t always match the mood.
The movie occasionally adopts a Hollywood-like approach, only to revert to a 90s-style comedy vibe. Despite its flaws, Nivin Pauly, Siju Wilson, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese deliver a laugh-filled experience with their hilarious chemistry. Grace Antony once again shines with her impeccable comic timing and spontaneous reactions. The film includes some heartwarming moments that may leave viewers longing to reconnect with their own circle of friends.
