Description: “Saath Paake Bandha” is a 2009 Bengali film that tells a compelling story of love and societal expectations. Rahul, played by Jeet, is the son of a wealthy and traditional businessman. After completing his education abroad, he returns home to his father, who insists on arranging his marriage. Rahul agrees to marry the woman of his father’s choice but sets a unique condition: the marriage will last only one year, after which either party can choose to end it if they feel disconnected. Surprisingly, his father accepts the condition and selects Pallavi, his personal assistant, portrayed by Koel Mallick, as the ideal bride.

Rahul often appears indifferent to Pallavi’s feelings, never celebrating her birthday or appreciating her efforts, which deeply hurts her. Their relationship is built on duty rather than love, and this tension becomes increasingly apparent. The story takes an unexpected turn when Rahul falls into a coma and Pallavi nurses him back to health. However, upon recovering, Rahul announces their marriage contract is ending and he plans to divorce her. This moment leaves the audience questioning whether their relationship can survive.
