**Storyline:**
LAPD Detective James Carter travels to Hong Kong for a vacation, where he meets his friend, Chief Inspector Lee of the Hong Kong Police Force. However, his holiday is interrupted when a bomb explodes at the US Consulate General, killing two undercover US Customs agents. Lee is assigned to investigate the case and discovers a connection to his late father’s former police partner, Ricky Tan, who is now a leader of the Triads.
Lee and Carter attempt to question Ricky, leading to a fight with his bodyguards. The case becomes a jurisdictional dispute between the US Secret Service, led by Agent Sterling, and the Hong Kong Police Force. After Lee’s office is bombed, he mistakenly believes Carter has died. The two reunite at a party on Ricky’s yacht, where Ricky claims he is being framed by his enemies. However, Hu Li, Ricky’s underling, shoots him and escapes.
Sterling blames Lee for Ricky’s death and removes him from the case. Carter is ordered to return to Los Angeles but convinces Lee to accompany him. Carter suspects that a wealthy businessman, Steven Reign, is behind the criminal operation. In LA, they investigate Reign and encounter Isabella Molina, an undercover Secret Service agent working on Reign’s money laundering scheme involving $100 million in counterfeit superdollars.
Lee and Carter team up to uncover the truth, following leads that take them deeper into the conspiracy. The movie combines action, humor, and suspense as the duo works to bring the criminals to justice.
