Description: The 2011 film “Romeo,” set in a village, follows the story of Pooja (Subhashree Ganguly), who grows up under the loving care of her father, Chatterjee (Kaushik Banerjee). Upon moving to Kolkata for further studies, Pooja stays at her uncle Dibakar’s (Biswajit Chakraborty) house. There, she meets Siddhartha, or Siddhu (Dev), a cheerful yet complex young man with a troubled past. Siddhu’s parents, Nandini (Laboni Sarkar) and Aviraj Roy (Sabyasachi Chakrabarty), separated after a love marriage, leaving him deeply affected.
Pooja and Siddhu eventually fall in love, and when Siddhu proposes to Pooja, her father sets a condition: Siddhu must reunite his estranged parents for the marriage to be approved. Determined, Siddhu and Pooja embark on a journey to bring Nandini and Aviraj back together. Despite numerous challenges, Siddhu confronts his father about the past, expressing that Aviraj should have fought to keep Nandini. After persistent efforts, Siddhu succeeds in reconciling his parents. Ultimately, Chatterjee blesses the union of Pooja and Siddhu, uniting the two lovers.
