**Storyline:**
Danny and Wheeler are salesmen promoting the energy drink “Minotaur,” which is marketed as a way to keep kids away from drugs. While Wheeler enjoys his job, Danny sees it as meaningless and dead-end, leaving him disillusioned and depressed. Danny’s impulsive behavior leads to the end of his relationship with Beth after he proposes to her on a whim.
During a presentation at a high school, their Minotaur truck is towed from a no-parking zone. Danny tries to free the truck but ends up damaging it, nearly hitting a security guard, and crashing into a statue. As a result, both are arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct. Beth negotiates a deal with the judge: instead of serving 30 days in jail, they must complete 150 hours of community service within 30 days through the Sturdy Wings program, a big brother-big sister initiative led by Gayle Sweeny, a recovering addict. She warns them that failure to meet her expectations will result in prison time.
Wheeler is paired with Ronnie Shields, a troublesome boy who has driven away all previous mentors. Danny is assigned Augie Farks, a shy teenager obsessed with a medieval role-playing game called “LAIRE.” Initially, Danny struggles to connect with Augie, while Ronnie clashes with Wheeler. Danny considers giving up and opting for jail, but Wheeler convinces him to stick it out, citing the risks of prison life.
Gradually, both men begin to bond with their mentees. Wheeler and Ronnie find common ground in their experiences of being abandoned by their fathers and their shared interest in breasts, which Wheeler teaches Ronnie to manage respectfully. Meanwhile, Danny learns about Augie’s fantasy world and discovers they both joined Sturdy Wings reluctantly. Through their journey, they grow closer and find unexpected purpose in their new roles.
