**Storyline:**
In 1199, Robin Longstride, a common archer in King Richard the Lionheart’s army, becomes disillusioned during the siege of Chalus Castle. After giving an honest critique of the King’s actions, Robin and his companions—Allan A’Dayle, Will Scarlett, and Little John—are imprisoned. When King Richard is killed, they escape and desert the army.
During their journey, Robin and his men encounter an ambush led by Godfrey, a traitorous knight conspiring with King Philip of France to overthrow England. After defeating Godfrey’s forces, Robin decides to impersonate a fallen knight, Sir Robert Loxley, to return to England. He promises to deliver Loxley’s sword to his father in Nottingham.
Upon arrival, Robin learns of King John’s harsh new taxes and Godfrey’s plot to incite rebellion in the North with French troops. In Nottingham, Robin is asked by Sir Walter, Robert’s blind father, to continue pretending to be his son to protect the family’s lands. Initially cold, Robert’s widow, Lady Marian, softens toward Robin after he helps the townspeople recover grain for planting.
As tensions rise, Robin must navigate treachery, protect Nottingham, and face the looming threat of a French invasion.
