Description: Josh Parker and Tiffany Henderson, who grew up as childhood friends and high school sweethearts, attempt to maintain a long-distance relationship when Josh attends the University of Ithaca and Tiffany enrolls at the University of Austin. Josh becomes anxious when he can’t reach her, suspecting infidelity. Despite his worries, he continues sending her video-taped letters. One day, Josh asks his friend Rubin to mail a tape to Tiffany before heading to class. Meanwhile, Josh’s Ancient Philosophy professor warns him that he needs a B+ on his mid-term to pass the semester.
Josh’s friend E.L. encourages him to notice Beth Wagner, who seems interested in him, despite his lingering concerns about Tiffany. Jacob, the Philosophy teaching assistant who is infatuated with Beth, becomes hostile toward Josh. At a party hosted by E.L., an auction is held, and Beth convinces Josh to outbid Jacob for her. They retreat to Josh’s room and end up recording their intimate encounter on his camcorder.
The next morning, Josh is in high spirits and confesses to his friends about his night with Beth. However, they later discover that Rubin may have mistakenly sent the explicit tape to Tiffany instead of Josh’s intended message. When Josh receives a voicemail from Tiffany explaining that she’s been unreachable due to her grandfather’s passing, he realizes the urgency to retrieve the tape. With the help of his friends E.L. and Rubin, Josh convinces Kyle, a shy and fearful individual, to join them on a road trip to Austin using Kyle’s car.
Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they take a detour in Bedford, only to find a collapsed bridge, forcing them to backtrack and lose precious time. Despite Kyle’s objections, E.L. and Rubin persuade the group to attempt jumping the gap. They succeed, but the car is severely damaged in the process, leaving them in a precarious situation.
