**Storyline:**
Rise tells the story of the Antetokounmpo family, who live discreetly in Greece after migrating from Nigeria years earlier. Life has been a constant struggle as they work hard to provide for their five children. Charles (played by Dayo Okeniyi) and Veronika (played by Yetide Badaki) are determined to secure Greek citizenship for themselves and their children, but Charles faces challenges due to his lack of an AMKA number, which is required for employment. The children assist their mother by selling items on the streets, though they often face raids by immigration police, forcing the family to flee for safety.
To keep the boys occupied, Charles encourages them to play soccer in the streets. However, the older sons, Giannis (Uche Agada) and Thanasis (Ral Agada), discover a passion for basketball after participating in a pickup game. They are invited to join the Filathlitikou team in Athens, which offers free membership. While this opportunity excites them, it also raises concerns about the family’s immigration status becoming exposed.
