Description: Resident Evil: Vendetta, known as Biohazard: Vendetta in Japan, is a 2017 Japanese animated biopunk action horror film set in the Resident Evil universe. Produced by Marza Animation Planet and Takashi Shimizu, the movie follows characters Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers. It is the third CG film in the series, following Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) and Resident Evil: Damnation (2012). Released in Japan on May 27, 2017, the story takes place between the events of Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
The plot centers on BSAA agent Chris Redfield, who is hunting Glenn Arias, a former CIA operative and arms dealer wanted by Interpol and the FBI. Arias seeks revenge against the U.S. government for the drone strike that killed his family and friends during his wedding. Chris and his team infiltrate a mansion in Mexico to rescue their undercover agent, Cathy White, but are ambushed by zombies and deadly traps. Chris barely escapes after a confrontation with Arias, who leaves with his associates, Maria and Diego Gomez.
Four months later, Rebecca Chambers, a former S.T.A.R.S. member and survivor of the Mansion incident, researches the “Animality Virus,” or A-virus. She discovers it can remain dormant until triggered. When her lab is attacked by Maria, Rebecca creates a vaccine to protect herself and is later rescued by Chris, who updates her on his mission.
