Description: Three years after the previous events, former CIA operative Frank Moses attempts to live a normal life with his girlfriend, Sarah Ross. Despite Marvin Boggs’ warnings that enemies are still after them, Frank dismisses his concerns. However, Marvin’s car explodes shortly after, leaving Frank skeptical about his death. Persuaded by Sarah, Frank attends Marvin’s funeral and delivers an emotional eulogy. Soon after, government agents interrogate Frank at an FBI facility. A corrupt agent, Jack Horton, along with private military contractors, ambushes the facility, threatening to torture Sarah unless Frank reveals crucial information. Frank escapes with the help of Marvin, who is still alive, and they go on the run with Sarah.
Marvin explains that they have been targeted due to their involvement in Operation Nightshade, a covert Cold War mission to smuggle a nuclear weapon into Russia. Horton manipulates international agencies into labeling Frank and his team as terrorists. Frank’s old ally, Victoria, notifies him that MI6 has hired her to eliminate them. Another skilled hitman, Han Cho-Bai, is also on their trail, seeking revenge against Frank. The group steals Han’s plane and flees to Paris in search of a contact known as “The Frog,” pursued by both American forces and Han. In Paris, they meet Katja Petrokovich, a Russian agent and Frank’s former lover, who is also investigating Nightshade.
After interrogating The Frog, Sarah seduces him to gain access to his security box. Katja, however, drugs Frank and takes the key, but Marvin anticipated her betrayal and provided Frank with a duplicate key. The group accesses the box and discovers documents pointing to Dr. Edward Bailey, the creator of the Nightshade bomb. They learn that Bailey has been imprisoned for 32 years in a high-security asylum for the criminally insane in London.
