Description: “Raja The Great” is a 2017 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film written and directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film stars Ravi Teja as a visually impaired man, alongside Mehreen Pirzada and Raadhika. Supporting roles are played by Vivan Bhatena (in his Telugu debut), Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, and Sampath Raj, with music composed by Sai Karthik. The movie also marks the debut of Ravi Teja’s son, Mahadhan, as a child actor.
The story follows Lucky, the cherished daughter of a dedicated police officer, SP Prakash. During one of his operations, Prakash clashes with the brother of a notorious gangster, Devaraj, which leads to a tragic turn of events. In a vengeful attack, Prakash is killed, and Lucky becomes a target. She flees to Darjeeling, seeking refuge in the home of her father’s friend, Prasad.
Meanwhile, the police assign a special team to protect Lucky. Raja, a blind man with remarkable skills trained by his head constable mother, Anantha Lakshmi, is included in the mission. Though initially assigned to cook for the team, Raja impresses with his abilities and eventually wins over the skeptical officers. Traveling to Darjeeling with his friend Bujji, Raja meets Lucky. With his unique approach, Raja helps uplift Lucky’s spirits and resolves Prasad’s challenges along the way.
“Raja The Great” began production in April 2017, filming in Hyderabad and Darjeeling. Released on October 18, 2017, the film received mixed reviews but was praised for its performances, action sequences, and entertainment value. It achieved significant commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing film of Ravi Teja’s career.
