Description: Race to Witch Mountain (2009) tells the story of an alien spacecraft crashing near Searchlight, Nevada, just 45 miles outside of Las Vegas. A secret Defense Department unit called Project Moon Dust, headed by Henry Burke, arrives at the scene in black helicopters. Agents in black secure the spacecraft and begin searching for its passengers, aiming to capture them and exploit their DNA and powers.
Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, former mob getaway driver Jack Bruno now works as a taxi driver to stay out of trouble and avoid returning to prison. Among his passengers is Dr. Alex Friedman, a discredited astrophysicist in town to speak at a UFO convention at the Planet Hollywood hotel.
After rejecting an offer from thugs working for mob boss Andrew Wolfe, Jack discovers two teenagers, Sara and Seth, in his cab. They offer him $15,000 to take them to an undisclosed location. Unbeknownst to Jack, the teens are the spacecraft’s passengers. Burke’s team tracks the duo through clues like stolen clothes, a burglarized car, a bus heading to Las Vegas, and an ATM emptied of its cash, eventually locating them in Jack’s taxi.
A high-speed chase ensues, with Jack mistaking the agents for more mob thugs. Using his driving skills, he evades them, aided by Seth’s ability to alter his molecular density and Sara’s telepathy and telekinesis. The group escapes to an abandoned house, where the teens retrieve a hidden device from an underground lab.
Their mission is interrupted by the Siphon, a powerful armored alien assassin. The creature pursues them until its ship collides with a train, leaving it injured. After Seth and Sara reveal their extraterrestrial origins to Jack, the trio stops at a diner to recover. However, Burke’s agents track them down again, forcing another escape.
The story combines action, suspense, and supernatural elements as Jack teams up with the alien teens to evade both government agents and deadly alien forces.
