**Storyline:**
Rebecca “Becca” and Howard “Howie” Corbett face an unimaginable loss when their four-year-old son, Danny, tragically dies in a car accident after chasing his dog into the street. Eight months later, Becca struggles to cope by removing Danny’s belongings and preparing to sell their home. Howie, however, is deeply upset by her actions, as he clings to the memories of their child. While Becca is adamant about not having another baby, Howie seems open to the idea.
Becca’s mother, Nat, has also experienced the loss of a child—her son, Arthur, who died from a drug overdose in his 30s. Becca insists that Arthur’s death and Danny’s are incomparable. Meanwhile, Becca’s sister, Izzy, is pregnant, and Becca’s passive-aggressive advice about motherhood creates tension between them.
Becca and Howie attend group therapy sessions, but Becca grows frustrated with other members, particularly a couple who attribute their child’s death to “God’s will.” She eventually stops attending, while Howie continues. There, he meets Gabby, a long-time member whose husband no longer attends. Over time, Howie and Gabby bond over shared grief, almost leading to an affair, but Howie ultimately reaffirms his love for Becca.
Meanwhile, Becca begins meeting with Jason, the teenage driver responsible for Danny’s accident. She learns he is haunted by guilt, and despite the tragedy, she assures him she doesn’t blame him. Jason shares that he is writing a comic book titled *Rabbit Hole*, which explores parallel universes, and promises to show it to her once it’s complete.
