Description: “Puppylove 2013” is a film that delves into the complexities of adolescence and sexual curiosity. The story follows Diane, a 14-year-old girl living with her father, Christian, and younger brother, Marc. Eager to explore her sexuality, Diane visits her friend Antoine, where they attempt to engage in intimate activities. However, their awkwardness prevents them from fully committing, and Diane returns home. There, her father catches her watching explicit content, leading to frustration on his part.
At school, Diane and her friends discuss the topic of losing one’s virginity. She later reconnects with Antoine, but their interaction remains brief. Meanwhile, Diane notices her new neighbor, Julia, and the two quickly form a friendship. Julia seeks Diane’s help in finding a piano teacher, though it becomes clear she mainly wants to connect with her.
As their friendship grows, Diane invites Julia to a party. Julia lies to her parents about staying over at Diane’s house, and Diane’s father shows no concern about her attending the event. At the party, Julia becomes involved with two boys, and Diane is drawn into the situation. After one of the boys behaves aggressively toward Diane, she and Julia decide to leave and walk home together.
The film explores themes of teenage curiosity, relationships, and the challenges of navigating adolescence.
