Description: Cassie Thomas, a 30-year-old who dropped out of medical school, lives with her parents. Years ago, her classmate Al Monroe raped her best friend Nina Fisher, but the school and legal system failed to investigate the case. Now, Cassie spends her nights pretending to be drunk at clubs, letting men take her home, only to reveal her sobriety when they attempt to take advantage of her.
At the coffee shop where she works, Cassie is asked out by Ryan Cooper, a former classmate. During their date, Ryan mentions that Al is getting married. This sparks Cassie’s determination to seek revenge on those she holds responsible for Nina’s trauma. She reconnects with Madison McPhee, an old friend who doubted Nina’s story, and manipulates her into a vulnerable situation to teach her a lesson.
Cassie then targets Elizabeth Walker, the medical school dean who dismissed Nina’s case due to “lack of evidence.” She tricks Walker’s teenage daughter, Amber, into her car and later confronts Walker, revealing she left Amber with drunk students. Desperate, Walker apologizes for her inaction, and Cassie assures her Amber is safe.
Cassie’s obsessive quest causes her to forget a date with Ryan, straining their relationship. Later, while pretending to be drunk at a bar, she encounters Ryan with another man, who recognizes her from a previous encounter.
Cassie also confronts Jordan Green, Al’s lawyer, who pressured Nina into dropping her charges. Seeing Green’s guilt and mental breakdown, Cassie forgives him. After meeting Nina’s mother, who encourages her to move on, Cassie decides to abandon her revenge plans. She reconciles with Ryan, and their relationship blossoms.
