Description: In the not-too-distant future, humanity has achieved significant breakthroughs in space exploration, establishing research stations on various planets. The international initiative known as Project Gemini has successfully developed a groundbreaking planet terraforming device. However, after the device is launched aboard a carrier rocket, Earth loses contact with the spacecraft as it ventures beyond the Solar System. Despite extensive efforts, the unit disappears without a trace.
Years later, a team of astrophysicists detects a strange signal from a distant, uncharted planet. This signal disrupts Earth’s environment, posing a severe threat. To investigate, an expedition is launched to the unknown planet. A small crew, representing the forefront of humanity, embarks on this dangerous mission. They must face immense challenges and tragedies to uncover the source of the signal and save Earth from peril.
Project Gemini, also known as “Zvyozdnyy Razum” or “Proekt Gemini,” is the latest Russian sci-fi film to hit the screens. Previous Russian science fiction movies like *Attraction*, *Sputnik*, and *The Blackout* have received mixed reviews. The trailer and its acquisition by Well Go USA for release in the U.S. and Canada piqued interest in this film.
The story unfolds three years after a devastating virus wipes out much of Earth’s plant life. Humanity’s survival hinges on two mysterious alien artifacts discovered by scientists. These artifacts include a revolutionary engine enabling deep space travel and an orb believed to be the origin of life on Earth. Using these, humanity plans to create a new home beyond Earth.
The expedition team, including Steve (Egor Koreshkov), David (Dmitriy Frid), and Leona (Martinez Lisa), is sent to a planet named Tess. However, an unexpected malfunction during their journey leaves them stranded in an uncharted region of the galaxy. They soon discover another planet, potentially more suitable for terraforming than Tess, and must navigate the challenges of this unfamiliar world.
