Description: In Pennsylvania, Keller Dover, his wife Grace, their son Ralph, and daughter Anna gather with their friends Franklin and Nancy Birch and their daughters Eliza and Joy for Thanksgiving. During the festivities, the children go out for a walk, and Anna and Joy are seen playing near a parked RV. Later, the two girls mysteriously disappear. Detective Loki responds to a report about the RV being spotted near the woods and arrests the man inside, Alex Jones.
During questioning, Loki discovers that Alex’s low intelligence makes it unlikely he could have orchestrated a kidnapping. No evidence linking the girls to the RV is found. Loki investigates local pedophiles and discovers a body in the home of Father Patrick Dunn, who admits to killing the man after he confessed to murdering 16 children in his “war on God.”
Alex is released to his aunt, Holly, but Keller, convinced of his guilt, assaults him after hearing Alex whisper, “They didn’t cry until I left them.” Believing Alex is hiding something, Keller, along with a hesitant Franklin, abducts and tortures him in an empty building he owns.
At a vigil for the missing girls, Loki spots a suspicious man who flees. He circulates a sketch of the suspect and later catches him breaking into the Dover and Birch homes. Grace alerts Loki, who, while investigating, notices Keller’s absence from home and follows him to the building. Keller claims he was there to drink, but Loki finds no trace of Alex.
Loki tracks down the suspect, Bob Taylor, whose home is filled with maze drawings, snakes, and bloodstained children’s clothing. At the police station, Taylor admits to his crimes, revealing he was abducted as a child. Loki pressures him to reveal the girls’ whereabouts as Taylor obsessively draws intricate mazes.
