**Storyline:**
Jim and Linda Hanson, a married couple with two daughters named Megan and Bridgette, are experiencing challenges in their relationship. While Jim is away on a business trip, Linda receives a phone message from him. Shortly after, Sheriff Reilly arrives to inform her that Jim tragically died in a car accident the previous day. Linda’s mother, Joanne, comes to assist the family, and Linda falls asleep on the living room couch.
The next morning, Linda wakes up in her bed to find Jim alive, drinking coffee and watching TV. Confused, she goes about her day until she is pulled over by Sheriff Reilly, who does not recognize her. The following day, Jim is dead again, and Bridgette has mysterious scars on her face. Linda discovers an empty bottle of lithium pills prescribed by Dr. Norman Roth.
At Jim’s funeral, Linda notices a strange woman mourning from a distance, but the woman flees when Linda approaches her. Linda later finds Dr. Roth’s phone number in the garbage, but his voicemail states his office is only open on weekdays. Eventually, Roth, along with two assistants and Sheriff Reilly, subdues Linda and commits her to a mental health facility. Roth reveals to Reilly that Linda had claimed Jim was dead before the accident, suggesting she may have been involved in his death and Bridgette’s injuries.
Linda wakes up once again to find Jim alive in the shower. After dropping the girls off at school, she searches for the lithium bottle but cannot find it. She decides to visit Dr. Roth’s office, where he does not recognize her. Linda shares her premonitions with him, but he dismisses them as daydreams and hints that she may secretly wish for her husband’s death. He prescribes lithium and ends the session.
Later, Linda visits Jim at his office and meets the mysterious woman from the funeral, Claire Francis. Observing Jim’s interaction with Claire, Linda senses an inappropriate closeness between them. Back at home, Linda disposes of the lithium tablets by letting them dissolve in the sink.
