Description: “Predestination” (2014) is a gripping time-travel film that follows the journey of a Temporal Agent tasked with preventing future crimes by traveling through time. On his final mission, the Agent aims to capture an elusive criminal known as the ‘Fizzle Bomber,’ who is responsible for a catastrophic attack that could claim thousands of lives.
The story begins with the Agent attempting to stop the Fizzle Bomber, who plants a bomb in a building. Although the Agent manages to contain the explosion, he is severely injured, and the bomber escapes. The Agent returns to his timeline using a time machine, where he undergoes extensive facial surgery to repair the damage caused by the blast.
Set in 1992, it is revealed that the Agent works for the Temporal Bureau, an organization dedicated to preventing major crimes by manipulating time. The Fizzle Bomber remains the only criminal to evade capture and has already caused the deaths of 11,000 people in New York in 1975.
After recovering, the Agent is sent on one last mission before his retirement. He travels back to 1978, posing as a bartender in New York, where he encounters a mysterious man referred to as the ‘Unmarried Mother,’ a writer for confession magazines. Their meeting sets the stage for a complex and layered narrative that challenges the boundaries of time and identity.
