Description: Police Academy 3: Back in Training is a 1986 comedy film. The story revolves around a challenge faced by Commandant Lassard’s police academy. Due to budget cuts, the state government plans to close one of two police academies. Commandant Mauser, Lassard’s rival, schemes to ensure Lassard’s academy fails. Mauser enlists Sergeants Copeland and Blanks, who have a grudge against Lassard for their low rankings in his class.
When the governor announces a committee will evaluate which academy stays open, Lassard decides to fight back. He recalls former officers, including Sergeant Mahoney, Sergeant Hooks, Sergeant Hightower, and Sergeant Tackleberry, to train a new batch of recruits. Among them are Sweetchuck, a former shop owner, and Zed, who once led a gang that harassed Sweetchuck. The recruits also include Tackleberry’s brother-in-law, Bud Kirkland, and Karen Adams, who captures Mahoney’s attention despite rejecting him. Additionally, Mauser sabotages Lassard’s academy by transferring Tomoko Nogata, a recruit from his own academy.
As training progresses, tensions rise. Sweetchuck struggles to coexist with Zed, while Nogata becomes infatuated with Lieutenant Callahan. Copeland and Blanks attempt to undermine the recruits, but Mahoney retaliates with a prank that leaves Mauser humiliated. Despite the chaos, Lassard’s academy strives to prove its worth and secure its future.
