Description: In rural Texas, go-go dancer Cherry Darling encounters her mysterious ex-boyfriend, El Wray, at a local restaurant called the Bone Shack, owned by brothers J.T. and Sheriff Hague. Meanwhile, the deranged Lt. Muldoon and his men engage in a transaction with a chemical engineer named Abby, acquiring a deadly biochemical agent known as DC2. When Muldoon discovers Abby has an extra supply, he tries to take her hostage, prompting her to release the gas into the air. This causes most of the town’s residents to mutate into deformed zombies. The infected are treated at a local hospital by Dr. William Block and his unhappy, unfaithful, bisexual anesthesiologist wife, Dakota.
Random zombie attacks begin along the highway, leading to a crash involving El Wray and Cherry. During the chaos, Cherry’s right leg is torn off by the zombies. At the hospital, Tammy, Dakota’s former lover, is recognized by Dr. Block. Realizing Dakota planned to leave him for Tammy, Block stabs Dakota’s hands repeatedly with anesthetic syringe needles, rendering them useless, and locks her in a closet.
El Wray is arrested by Sheriff Hague due to their past encounters. As the infected patients mutate, El Wray escapes and arrives at the hospital, attaching a wooden table leg to Cherry’s stump. Together, they fight their way out of the hospital while Dakota manages to flee in her car. Meanwhile, Dr. Block becomes infected, along with others. Cherry and El Wray take refuge at the Bone Shack.
Dakota retrieves her son, Tony, and takes him to her estranged father, Texas Ranger Earl McGraw. In J.T.’s bedroom, Cherry and El Wray share an intimate moment. After a “missing reel” sequence, Sheriff Hague is shot in the neck by one of his officers, zombies gather outside the burning Bone Shack, and El Wray’s true identity is revealed to Hague. Dakota, Earl, Skip (Cherry’s former boss), and Tony’s crazed babysitter twins arrive at the Bone Shack.
