Description: Dusty Crophopper, a hardworking crop duster plane, dreams of becoming a racer despite mockery from his boss, Leadbottom, and his mechanic friend, Dottie. Only his fuel truck friend, Chug, supports his ambition. Training for the Wings Across the Globe race qualifiers, Dusty seeks guidance from Skipper Riley, an elderly navy warplane, who initially refuses. Dusty qualifies for the race after another contestant is disqualified for using illegal fuel. Convinced by Dusty’s determination, Skipper agrees to mentor him, helping him overcome his fear of heights.
In New York City, Dusty befriends El Chupacabra, a Mexican racer who falls for Rochelle, a French-Canadian competitor. Dusty also meets Ishani, an Indian racer who supports him, while the arrogant three-time winner Ripslinger underestimates him. During the race, Dusty’s fear of heights causes him to finish last in the first leg from New York to Iceland. In the second leg to Germany, Dusty saves another racer, Bulldog, earning his respect but still placing last.
In India, Ishani advises Dusty to fly low through the Himalayas by following railroad tracks. Though he briefly takes the lead, Dusty discovers Ishani’s advice was a trap orchestrated by Ripslinger in exchange for a new propeller. Heartbroken, Dusty distances himself from her. As the race continues to Shanghai, Dusty maintains his lead and helps El Chupacabra win Rochelle’s affection with a romantic gesture. Overcoming challenges and betrayal, Dusty proves his determination and earns his place as a true racer.
