**Storyline:**
Natha Das Manikpuri, commonly known as Natha, is a struggling farmer from the village of Peepli in Mukhya Pradesh. He faces immense difficulties in supporting his family, which includes his elder brother Budhia, his wife Dhaniya, their three children, and his ailing mother, Amma. Natha and Budhia often pretend to work on their farm while secretly spending their limited savings on alcohol, leaving the family in dire poverty. With banks threatening to seize their land and home due to unpaid loans, the family is on the brink of losing everything.
Meanwhile, the Mukhya Pradesh Government is under pressure to address the widespread poverty in the state, leading to a by-election. The opposition Apna Dal Party sees this as an opportunity to challenge the long-ruling Sammaan Party and its Chief Minister, Ram Babu Yadav, who supports rural industrialization alongside Federal Agriculture Minister Saleem Kidwai.
Desperate to save his land and family, Natha considers committing suicide after local leaders suggest it as a way to waive the loans and secure compensation for his family. When Natha discusses this plan at a local tea stall with his brother, the conversation is overheard by Rakesh, a local reporter from Peepli.
The story quickly gains national attention, with English news channels highlighting Natha’s plight. The media descends on Peepli, eager to cover the sensational suicide story. Among them is Nandita Malik, a journalist from ITVN, who teams up with Rakesh Kapoor to interview Natha and his family.
