Description: In a realm inspired by feudal Japan and entirely populated by cats, Ika Chu, a deceitful high-ranking official in the Shogun’s court, aims to expand his grand palace. However, his plans are hindered by the presence of Kakamucho, a poor neighboring village. Determined to rid himself of the village, Ika Chu devises a scheme to force its residents to flee. He sends a group of thugs, led by his right-hand man Ohga, to destroy the town and wipe it out using his enormous jade toilet. The villagers, desperate for protection, demand the Shogun appoint a new samurai after their previous one abandons them. In an attempt to humiliate the villagers, Ika Chu assigns the role to Hank, a dog prisoner who is about to face execution.
Initially met with hostility, Hank gains the support of Jimbo, a catnip-addled samurai who reluctantly agrees to train him. Through his training, Hank manages to defeat Sumo, a strong but dim-witted henchman sent by Ika Chu to expedite the villagers’ departure. Hank’s victory earns him admiration from the townspeople, but his newfound fame goes to his head, causing him to neglect his training and leading to a rift with Jimbo. Ika Chu lures Hank to a private nightclub to distract him while his thugs lay waste to Kakamucho. When Hank returns to find the village in ruins, he considers giving up until an origami figure reminds him of his samurai oath.
Meanwhile, Jimbo attempts to storm Ika Chu’s palace to rescue Sumo, who has been captured by Ika Chu’s henchmen. Hank returns to assist Jimbo, and upon learning of Sumo’s escape, Ika Chu gathers an army of thugs. Hank devises a plan to defeat Ika Chu’s forces by creating a lifelike paper replica of the village, complete with dummy figures. The raiders fall into the trap, attacking the fake town, which has been rigged with explosives.
