**Storyline:**
Graeme Willy (Nick Frost) and Clive Gollings (Simon Pegg) are British comic book and sci-fi fans who travel to the United States to attend the annual San Diego Comic-Con. After the event, they embark on a road trip through the Southwestern U.S. to explore famous UFO sites. One night, while driving on a remote desert highway, they witness a car crash. When they stop to help, they discover the driver is an alien named Paul. Despite Clive’s initial shock and fear, Graeme agrees to give Paul a ride.
Soon, Special Agent Zoil (Jason Bateman) of the Secret Service arrives at the crash site, informing his superior that he is tracking Paul. Meanwhile, Graeme, Clive, and Paul are joined by Ruth Buggs (Kristen Wiig), a one-eyed Christian fundamentalist, after she faints upon seeing Paul. During their journey, Paul challenges Ruth’s beliefs and uses his abilities to heal her blind eye.
Their adventure takes them to a bar, where they face off against a group of aggressive rednecks. They manage to escape after Paul scares the rednecks into unconsciousness. Later, Agent Zoil interrogates Ruth, but she outsmarts him and rejoins the group. Meanwhile, rookie agents Haggard and O’Reilly attempt to capture Paul on their own, leading to more twists and surprises.
