Description: The 2020 film “Parasite” is a gripping story about the Kim family, who devise a plan to infiltrate the lives of the wealthy Park family. After successfully gaining their trust, the Kims manage to secure positions in the Park household. However, chaos erupt when the Park family unexpectedly returns home due to rain, cutting short their camping trip. In just eight minutes, the Kims must clean up their mess and hide evidence of their scheme.
During the turmoil, Moon-kwang, the former housekeeper, tries to escape from the basement but is violently stopped by Mrs. Kim, who pushes her down the stairs, leaving her severely injured. Moon-kwang and Geun-sae are then locked in the secret bunker. Meanwhile, the Parks decide to sleep in the living room to watch over their son, Da-song, who is camping in the backyard. This forces the Kims to hide under the table all night, enduring humiliation as the Parks complain about Mr. Kim’s odor and later engage in intimacy.
The Kims eventually escape but return to find their home flooded with rainwater and sewage. Seeking refuge, they spend the night in a shelter. The next day, Mrs. Park organizes an unexpected party for Da-song, and the Kims, still pretending to be loyal employees, attend. Unbeknownst to the Parks, two people remain trapped in the bunker beneath the house.
Ki-woo, one of the Kims, ventures into the bunker with a decorative rock, only to discover Moon-kwang’s lifeless body. He is then ambushed by Geun-sae, who brutally attacks him. Geun-sae storms into the party, stabbing Ki-jung and causing mass panic. Amid the chaos, Da-song suffers a seizure, revealing that Geun-sae was the “ghost” he had seen earlier in the house.
The film masterfully explores themes of class struggle, deception, and the consequences of greed, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
