Description: Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is a 2021 American supernatural horror film directed by William Eubank and written by Christopher Landon. Produced by Jason Blum and Oren Peli, it serves as the seventh installment in the Paranormal Activity series and acts as a reboot. The film features a cast including Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert, Henry Ayres-Brown, and Tom Nowicki.
Though Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension was initially marketed as the series finale, Paramount Pictures revealed in June 2019 that a seventh film was in development. Christopher Landon joined as the scriptwriter in early 2020, and William Eubank was announced as the director in February 2021. Casting was finalized by March 2021, and filming wrapped up in July of the same year.
The story follows a young woman on a quest to uncover the truth behind her mother’s mysterious disappearance, leading her to a horrifying revelation about her family’s past. Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin premiered on Paramount+ on October 29, 2021.
Originally intended as a continuation, the film was reimagined as a reboot, giving the series a fresh start. The title was officially unveiled in September 2021, marking a new chapter in the Paranormal Activity franchise.
