Description: Paranormal Activity (2007) tells the chilling story of a young couple, Katie and Micah, who move into a new house in San Diego in 2006. Katie reveals that she has been haunted by an evil presence since childhood, prompting Micah to set up a camera in their bedroom to document any paranormal activity during the night. A psychic named Dr. Fredrichs warns them that a demon is tormenting Katie, feeding on negative energy, and advises them not to engage with it. He suggests contacting a demonologist, Dr. Johann Averies, if necessary. While Katie takes the situation seriously, Micah dismisses it.
The camera captures increasingly alarming events, starting with minor disturbances like strange noises, flickering lights, and a moving bedroom door. Micah’s mocking of the demon escalates the haunting. On the thirteenth night, the demon’s anger becomes evident with loud screeches, a heavy thud, and a slamming door. The next day, Micah conducts a voice recorder test, capturing demonic grunts when he mentions a Ouija board. On the fifteenth night, Katie enters a trance-like state, standing by the bed and staring at Micah for hours before wandering outside, with no memory of the incident the next day.
Micah’s decision to bring home a Ouija board angers Katie. While they’re away, the camera records the board’s pointer moving on its own, spelling an unknown message before the board bursts into flames. Terrified, Katie urges Micah to contact the demonologist, but he refuses. On the seventeenth night, Micah spreads baby powder in the hallway and outside their bedroom door. They wake to find non-human footprints leading to the attic, where Micah discovers a burnt photo of young Katie. Desperate, Katie calls the demonologist only to learn he is unavailable.
