Description: “Paran Jai Jaliya Re” (2009) is a film that tells the story of Anna, an NRI girl living in London. Her father wants her to marry an Indian man, but Anna is in a platonic relationship with Harry, a half-British boy. Meanwhile, Anna’s brother, Sid, is in a relationship with a British girl and wishes to marry her. However, their father disapproves and refuses to allow it, leading Sid to leave their family home.
Anna’s father takes his wife and daughter back to India, hoping to find a suitable groom for Anna. They meet Raj, a charming Bengali man who falls in love with Anna. The marriage is arranged since Raj’s father is an old friend of Anna’s dad. Although Anna likes Raj, she devises a plan to delay and ultimately cancel the engagement by bringing Raj to London and breaking up with him there. In this foreign setting, Raj faces challenges as he strives to win Anna’s heart and finally marry her.
