**Storyline:**
Quentin “Q” Jacobsen (played by Nat Wolff) lives across the street from Margo Roth Spiegelman (Cara Delevingne) in a neighborhood called Jefferson Park in Orlando, Florida. They were childhood friends, but after discovering the body of a local lawyer, Robert Joyner, who took his own life post-divorce, they drifted apart over the years. Unbeknownst to Margo, Quentin has harbored feelings for her since they became neighbors. As they grow older, Margo becomes a popular and adventurous figure at Jefferson Park High School, while Quentin is kind, reserved, and largely unnoticed by his peers. His closest friends are Benjamin “Ben” Starling (Austin Abrams) and Marcus “Radar” Lincoln (Justice Smith).
One night, Margo unexpectedly climbs through Quentin’s window and invites him on an all-night revenge mission. She discovers her boyfriend, Jason “Jase” Worthington (Griffin Freeman), cheated on her with one of her friends, Rebecca “Becca” Arrington (Caitlin Carver). After gathering supplies, they execute humiliating pranks on Jason, Rebecca, and their friends, including Margo’s best friend, Lacey Pemberton (Halston Sage). Margo confronts Lacey for not revealing the affair, though it later becomes clear Lacey was unaware of it. This experience gives Quentin hope that he might finally grow closer to Margo, inspiring him to step out of his comfort zone and take risks.
The next day, Margo doesn’t show up at school, and after several days, some believe she’s missing, while others think she’s simply left town. Margo’s parents refuse to report her disappearance to the police, as she has run away before, and they’re confident she’ll return eventually.
