Description: Ouija (2014) Movie Storyline:
Debbie Galardi remembers playing Ouija as a child with her best friend, Laine Morris. In the present day, Debbie throws her Ouija board into a fire, destroying it. She hints to Laine that something unusual occurred during their use of the board. After Laine leaves, the Ouija board mysteriously reappears in Debbie’s room. She becomes possessed and tragically takes her own life using Christmas lights.
At Debbie’s wake, Laine gathers with her boyfriend Trevor, her younger sister Sarah, her friend Isabelle, and Debbie’s boyfriend Pete. The group decides to use Debbie’s Ouija board to attempt communication with her. During the session, strange events unfold, and a mysterious force violently injures Pete by slamming his hand and face into a mirror. Later, the phrase “hi friend” (a message from their Ouija session) begins appearing in various places, including Isabelle’s car window, a tunnel wall, Pete’s desk, and Laine’s computer. Believing it to be Debbie reaching out, the group conducts another session, only to discover they are communicating with a spirit named “DZ.” Laine sees a vision of a young girl with her mouth sewn shut, who warns them to flee because her mother is coming. The group encounters an elderly woman and immediately escapes.
Laine later learns that Debbie had found the Ouija board in her attic and played with it alone. Meanwhile, Isabelle becomes possessed and is brutally killed when her skull is crushed against her bathroom sink. Laine and Pete investigate Debbie’s attic, uncovering a box of old photographs belonging to the home’s previous residents. Through research, they discover the story of a missing girl named Doris Zander, whose mother was suspected of involvement in her disappearance. Laine visits Doris’s sister, Paulina, who is now confined to a psychiatric hospital.
