Description: “Once Upon a Deadpool” (2018) is a film that follows Wade Wilson, also known as Deadpool, as he reluctantly joins the X-Men, believing it’s what his late love, Vanessa, would have wanted. Alongside Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Wade intervenes in a standoff involving Russell Collins, a young mutant with a fiery temper, at an orphanage run by the Essex Corporation. Discovering Russell has been mistreated, Deadpool takes matters into his own hands, killing one of the staff members. This act leads to his arrest, and he is imprisoned alongside Russell in a facility for mutant criminals called the Ice Box.
Meanwhile, Cable, a time-traveling cybernetic soldier, arrives with the mission to kill Russell, believing his actions in the future will lead to catastrophic consequences. During a violent confrontation at the Ice Box, Wade’s power-suppressing collar is damaged, allowing him to fight back. However, in the chaos, Russell overhears Wade denying his care for him, which deeply affects the young mutant.
After a vision of Vanessa urging him to help Russell, Deadpool assembles a team called X-Force to rescue Russell during a prison transfer. The mission goes awry as most of the team dies during the chaotic assault, leaving only Deadpool and Domino to face Cable. Russell, seeking vengeance against his abusers, frees the powerful mutant, Juggernaut, who helps him escape but ends up ripping Deadpool in half during the process.
As Wade regenerates, Cable proposes a temporary alliance to stop Russell from becoming a future serial killer. Wade agrees on the condition that he gets a chance to persuade Russell to change his path. Together, they work to prevent a tragic future.
