Description: OMG, I’m a Robot! is a 2015 Israeli science fiction comedy film directed by Tal Goldberg and Gal Zelezniak. Starring Yotam Ishay and Tzahi Grad in lead roles, the movie also features a Jewish-inspired “R2-D2” character voiced by Rob Schneider. The story follows Danny, who is shocked to discover he is a deadly robot. With newfound hope and robotic abilities, along with the help of his tough boss and the quirky “R2-D2,” Danny embarks on a mission to save the love of his life.
The film premiered in Israeli cinemas and made its international debut at the Sitges Film Festival in Catalonia, Spain, on October 14, 2016. It was nominated in the festival’s “Midnight Extreme” competition. In 2017, the movie was showcased at various genre festivals, including Italy’s Fantafestival, Portugal’s Fantasporto, Brazil’s Fantaspoa, and the Boston Science Fiction Film Festival. It also opened the Other Worlds Austin SciFi Film Festival.
OMG, I’m a Robot! received multiple accolades, including a nomination for “Best Feature” at Sitges and “Best Art Design” by the Israeli Academy of Film and Television. Additionally, it won “Best Feature Film Editing” at the Other Worlds Austin SciFi Film Festival. The film is available for home viewing through Israeli video-on-demand platforms.
