Storyline: Upon returning home early from a business trip, attorney Mitch Martin (played by Luke Wilson) discovers his girlfriend Heidi watching porn. Initially relieved, he soon realizes she has planned a threesome. Shocked to learn this is a regular occurrence for her, Mitch decides to end their relationship. A few days later, he attends the wedding of his friend Frank, where he awkwardly reunites with his high school crush, Nicole. Shortly after, Mitch moves into a house near the campus of the fictional Harrison University in Upstate New York.
During a housewarming party hosted by Mitch’s friend Bernard, the event—dubbed Mitch-A-Palooza—becomes a massive success. However, Frank’s drunken antics, including streaking in front of his wife Marissa and her friends, strain their new marriage. The next morning, Mitch, Frank, and Bernard encounter Gordon Pritchard, a former classmate they used to mock, who is now the college dean. Pritchard informs them they must vacate the house as it is reserved for campus housing. To bypass this, Bernard suggests forming a fraternity open to anyone to meet the housing requirements.
The newly formed fraternity begins hosting various hazing events across campus, drawing attention from Pritchard and other faculty members. At a birthday party for Bernard’s child, Nicole introduces her boyfriend, Mark, to Mitch. Later, Mitch catches Mark cheating on Nicole in the bathroom. Though initially keeping it to himself, Mitch is forced to reveal the truth when Mark falsely claims he was with Mitch.
The fraternity’s antics continue, but tragedy strikes when Blue, the oldest member, dies of a heart attack during a KY lube-wrestling match at his birthday celebration. At Blue’s funeral, Marissa asks Frank for a divorce. Seeking revenge, Pritchard convinces student council president Megan to revoke the fraternity’s charter. Megan, who initially supports the fraternity due to meeting her boyfriend at one of their parties, ultimately agrees after Pritchard bribes her with promises to help her gain admission to Columbia Law School.
