Description: “Oke Oka Jeevitham,” translated as “One and Only Life,” is a 2022 Indian science fiction drama film written and directed by Shree Karthick in his debut. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the movie was filmed simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, with the Tamil version titled “Kanam” (transl. Moment). The film features Sharwanand, Amala Akkineni, and Ritu Varma in lead roles, supported by Vennela Kishore, Priyadarshi, and Nassar in the Telugu version, while Sathish and Ramesh Thilak replace the latter two in the Tamil adaptation.
Production began in August 2019, with filming primarily taking place in Hyderabad and Chennai. The project faced an eight-month delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was completed in November 2020. Released theatrically on September 9, 2022, the film received positive reviews from critics.
The story begins on March 28, 1998, when scientists Paul and Michael conduct an experiment on their time machine, which fails, resulting in Michael’s death. In 2019, three friends—Adhi, Chaitu, and Sreenu—are struggling with their lives. Adhi is an aspiring musician hindered by stage fright, Chaitu faces challenges in finding a suitable bride, and Sreenu regrets not studying diligently during his school years.
One day, Paul contacts Sreenu, a real estate agent, to show him a house on the outskirts. Sreenu brings along Adhi and Chaitu. Adhi is stunned to find boxes dated March 28, 1998—the day before his mother’s death. Paul overhears this and convinces Adhi to use the time machine to save his mother. In exchange, Adhi must prevent Michael’s death by stopping the experiment. Chaitu and Sreenu join the mission to alter their own fates. They place the time machine in the abandoned house of Sreenu’s grandfather, setting the stage for their journey through time.
