Description: Odd Thomas is a 2013 movie about a psychic named Odd Thomas, played by Yelchin, who lives in a small California town. He describes his unique ability as, “I see dead people, but then, by God, I do something about it.” One day, Odd experiences a disturbing vision of faceless individuals in bowling shirts crying out for help before they are shot by a gunman, including himself.
After recovering from the vision, he returns to his job as a short-order cook, where he serves a peculiar man nicknamed Fungus Bob due to his unusual hair. Odd notices that Fungus Bob is surrounded by bodachs, invisible creatures that thrive on evil, which only Odd can see. His co-worker, Viola, shares a dream in which she sees herself and another man being shot, their clothing matching the faceless people in Odd’s vision.
Using his psychic abilities, Odd tracks Fungus Bob to the mall where his girlfriend Stormy works. He follows Bob to his house, discovering a file of newspaper clippings about mass murderers and a blank calendar page, hinting at a sinister plan. Odd reports this to Chief Porter, who assigns deputies to monitor Fungus Bob. Later, Odd and Stormy encounter Fungus Bob at a church belfry, narrowly escaping as he destroys the area. Chief Porter investigates but finds no evidence linking Robertson to the vandalism. The movie explores Odd’s efforts to prevent a looming tragedy using his psychic gifts.
