**Storyline:**
A group of magicians—J. Daniel Atlas, Merritt McKinney, Henley Reeves, and Jack Wilder—each receive a mysterious tarot card that leads them to a New York City apartment. There, they find hologram technology with instructions from an unknown benefactor. A year later, they perform as “The Four Horsemen” in a Las Vegas show funded by insurance magnate Arthur Tressler. Their final act appears to transport an audience member into a Paris bank vault, where they seemingly steal a large sum of money, showering it on the Las Vegas crowd.
FBI agent Dylan Rhodes and Interpol agent Alma Dray investigate but lack evidence to arrest them. They seek help from Thaddeus Bradley, a former magician turned magic debunker. Thaddeus reveals how the Horsemen used a mock vault under the stage and explains their intricate methods.
The Horsemen’s next performance in New Orleans involves transferring over $140 million from Tressler’s accounts to an audience of people whose insurance claims were denied after Hurricane Katrina. As the investigation deepens, suspicion arises that the Horsemen are connected to “The Eye,” a legendary group of magicians who steal from the wealthy to aid the poor. Meanwhile, Dylan discovers his phone has been bugged, allowing the Horsemen to stay one step ahead.
