Description: “Now You See Me 2” is a 2016 thriller film that continues the story of the Four Horsemen, a group of skilled illusionists. Following their escape from the FBI 18 months prior, the group—comprising J. Daniel Atlas, Merritt McKinney, Jack Wilder, and newcomer Lula May—awaits instructions from the Eye, a secret society of magicians. Their handler, FBI Special Agent Dylan Rhodes, assigns them a mission to expose Owen Case, a corrupt tech CEO whose new cell phone secretly collects and sells users’ personal data.
During a high-profile event in New York City, the Horsemen disrupt the phone’s launch but are confronted by a mysterious figure who exposes Dylan’s involvement with them and reveals Jack faked his death. Forced to flee, the Horsemen escape through a construction chute and unexpectedly end up in Macau. There, they are captured by Chase, Merritt’s twin brother, and taken to Walter Mabry, Owen’s former business partner. Walter discloses that he orchestrated their capture to manipulate them into stealing a powerful chip he designed, which can access any global computer system.
With the help of a local magic store owner, the Horsemen infiltrate the Macau Science Center to retrieve the chip. Meanwhile, Dylan is approached by Thaddeus Bradley, a magic debunker whom he previously framed. Thaddeus reveals a surprising twist: he was actually Dylan’s father’s partner in magic and has been pretending to be his adversary all along. Thaddeus appoints Dylan as the new leader of the Eye, setting the stage for the Horsemen’s next adventure.
