Description: “Natural Born Killers” (1994) tells the story of Mickey Knox and his wife Mallory, a couple who embark on a violent killing spree across the American Southwest. Their journey begins at a diner in the New Mexico desert, where they brutally murder several patrons after a confrontation. The couple’s relationship is rooted in a dark past, as they met when Mickey, a deliveryman, began visiting Mallory’s family. Their romance led to the murder of Mallory’s abusive father and neglectful mother, followed by an unconventional wedding ceremony.
As they continue their rampage, Mickey and Mallory encounter various individuals, including a hostage whom Mickey assaults and a mechanic Mallory kills after a sudden flashback to her traumatic past. Their actions result in 52 deaths across New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada, attracting the attention of Detective Jack Scagnetti, a man with his own violent tendencies and a personal obsession with mass murderers. Meanwhile, tabloid journalist Wayne Gale sensationalizes their crimes, turning them into infamous celebrities.
After consuming psychedelic mushrooms, the couple loses their way in the desert and stumbles upon a ranch owned by Warren Red Cloud, a Navajo man who senses their malevolence. Warren attempts to cleanse the evil from Mickey during their stay, adding a mystical element to their chaotic story. The film explores themes of violence, media influence, and the darker aspects of human nature.
