Description: Kakababur Protyaborton, also known as Naradhan, is a 2022 Bengali adventure film. The story follows Raja Roy Chowdhury, known as Kakababu, and his nephew Santu as they embark on a relaxing trip to Nairobi, Kenya. They are hosted by a Bengali couple, Amal and Manju. Despite receiving a threatening call, Kakababu ignores it, as he often does. Soon, they are invited by Ashok Desai, an Indian businessman based in Africa, and his partner Mr. Ninjane to visit their hotel located in the Maasai Mara forest.
Their journey to the jungle hotel is filled with adventure. Upon arrival, Kakababu discovers that two German tourists had mysteriously disappeared from the same hotel just days earlier. As he begins to investigate, he and Santu find themselves in grave danger.
The film beautifully captures the African savanna, showcasing its stunning landscapes and wildlife. However, the first half leans heavily on visual splendor and excessive branding, which eventually becomes monotonous. The second half, however, delivers intense and thrilling encounters between the characters and the forces of nature.
True to the Kakababu series, danger is a constant companion for the uncle-nephew duo. Their stay at the Maasai Mara hotel is no exception, as they face numerous challenges that test their courage and wit.
Kakababur Protyaborton is best enjoyed on the big screen, thanks to Soumik Halder’s exceptional cinematography. One of the film’s highlights is the depiction of the great wildebeest migration from Maasai Mara to Serengeti, which stands out as one of the most remarkable sequences in recent Bengali cinema. The film offers a mix of adventure, suspense, and breathtaking visuals, making it an engaging watch.
