Description: Set in the 1940s, Isabel Green struggles to manage her chaotic life while her husband, Rory, is away fighting in World War II. Juggling the demands of the family farm, her job at the village shop run by the eccentric Mrs. Docherty, and caring for her three lively children—Norman, Megsie, and Vincent—pushes her to her limits. The situation worsens when her two wealthy cousins, Cyril and Celia, move in and begin quarreling with her children. Overwhelmed, Isabel desperately needs help with childcare.
Enter Nanny McPhee, a magical nanny who steps in to restore order. Initially, the children ignore her and continue their squabbles, but Nanny McPhee’s supernatural abilities quickly put an end to their misbehavior. Meanwhile, Isabel’s brother-in-law, Phil, has gambled away his share of the farm and is pursued by two female assassins hired by a casino owner named Mrs. Biggles. Determined to force Isabel to sell her half of the farm, Phil resorts to cruel schemes, leaving Isabel with seemingly no options. The children uncover one of his ploys and band together to thwart his plans.
During a family picnic, an ARP Warden, Mr. Docherty, warns them about the dangers of bombs. Later, Phil delivers a devastating telegram claiming Rory has been killed in action. While the family mourns, Norman insists he can “feel it in his bones” that his father is still alive. Cyril initially dismisses Norman’s intuition but eventually agrees to investigate. The two boys, with Nanny McPhee’s help, travel to the War Office in London to seek answers from Cyril and Celia’s father, Lord Gray.
At the War Office, Norman and Cyril confront Lord Gray, who initially mocks Norman’s disbelief. However, when Cyril reveals his knowledge of his parents’ impending divorce, the situation takes a turn. Nanny McPhee’s wisdom and the children’s determination bring the family together as they navigate their challenges and uncover the truth about Rory’s fate.
