Nick Spitz, a New York police officer, and his wife Audrey, a hairdresser, embark on a trip to Europe after Nick falsely claims to have booked the vacation. During the flight, Audrey befriends billionaire Charles Cavendish, who invites the couple to join his family yacht for a celebration of his uncle’s upcoming wedding. Onboard, they meet a group of intriguing guests, including Charles’ ex-fiancée Suzi Nakamura, his cousin Tobey, actress Grace Ballard, Colonel Ulenga, bodyguard Sergei, Maharajah Vikram, and race car driver Juan Carlos.
That evening, the yacht’s host, Malcolm Quince, announces that his new wife, Suzi, will be the sole heir to his fortune, believing his relatives are only interested in his wealth. Before he can finalize his new will, the lights go out, and when they return, Quince is found dead, stabbed with a ceremonial dagger. Nick, who has pretended to recently become an NYPD detective, takes charge and orders the room locked. Later, Tobey is discovered dead, seemingly by suicide.
When the yacht arrives in Monte Carlo, Inspector de la Croix questions the guests and suspects Nick and Audrey of the murders. The couple must navigate the chaos and unravel the truth to prove their innocence.
