Description: The film *Mugguru Monagallu* (2021) revolves around three friends: Sushanth (Srinivasa Reddy), Kishore (Dikshith Shetty), and Deepak (Vennela Ramarao). Sushanth is deaf, Kishore is mute, and Deepak is blind. One day, they discover a clue related to a series of murders in their city and decide to take action. Srinivasa Reddy’s performance stands out in the film, delivering humor effectively. Dikshith Shetty and Vennela Ramarao also excel in their respective roles, with Ramarao’s portrayal of the blind man being particularly noteworthy. The trio’s chemistry adds a layer of fun even in absurd scenarios.
While the film had potential to build strong suspense and drama around the murders, the director focused more on entertainment, missing opportunities to deepen the narrative. As a result, the movie struggles to balance between comedy and serious drama, often veering off-track with unnecessary scenes.
Raja Ravindra, who plays a cop, impresses in his role. The drama surrounding the serial murders is engaging, and a few suspenseful moments are well-executed. However, the lead actress’s performance is mediocre.
The music and cinematography fail to leave a mark, with the latter being particularly underwhelming in the second half. Editing and production design are also disappointing, though the dialogues and overall setting are decent. Ultimately, while the story holds promise, the director’s execution falls short, leaving many aspects underdeveloped.
