Description: Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 film that tells the story of Daniel Hillard, a freelance voice actor living in San Francisco. After quitting his job over a disagreement about a morally questionable script, Daniel throws a chaotic birthday party for Chris, despite Miranda’s objections. This leads Miranda to file for divorce. During the custody hearing, the court grants Miranda sole custody, with the condition that Daniel can share custody if he secures a stable job and a suitable home within three months.
Determined to rebuild his life, Daniel finds an apartment and a job as a shipping clerk at a TV station. When he learns Miranda is searching for a housekeeper, he secretly alters her ad and uses his voice acting skills to pose as various undesirable candidates. Eventually, he presents himself as “Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire,” a skilled British nanny. Miranda hires her after a successful interview. With the help of his brother Frank, a makeup artist, and Frank’s partner Jack, Daniel transforms into Mrs. Doubtfire using a prosthetic mask.
As Mrs. Doubtfire, Daniel bonds with his children, teaching them discipline and helping them thrive. Miranda also grows closer to her children, but Daniel’s dual identity creates a new challenge: Miranda trusts Mrs. Doubtfire more than him, making it difficult for Daniel to reveal his true self. One night, Lydia and Chris discover Mrs. Doubtfire is actually their father and agree to keep his secret, overjoyed to have him back in their lives.
