Description: Mr. Deeds, released in 2002, is a comedy film that follows the story of Longfellow Deeds, a small-town pizzeria owner and greeting card writer from Mandrake Falls, New Hampshire. When billionaire Preston Blake passes away while climbing Mount Everest, his board of directors discovers that Deeds is his only living heir. Deeds is brought to New York City by businessman Chuck Cedar, who oversees Blake Media and plans to acquire Deeds’ shares for $40 billion.
As Deeds navigates his newfound wealth and fame, he becomes the target of Babe Bennett, a reporter for the tabloid TV show Inside Access. Posing as a school nurse named Pam Dawson, Babe aims to uncover Deeds’ story but ends up falling for his kind-hearted nature. However, her true identity is exposed by Inside Access and Cedar, leaving Deeds heartbroken.
Deeds returns to Mandrake Falls, donating his fortune to the United Negro College Fund and ensuring Blake Media remains operational. When he learns Cedar plans to sell the company, putting thousands out of work, Babe follows him to make amends. Despite saving her life after an accident, Deeds struggles to trust her again, leaving their future uncertain.
